Understanding and Applying Military Leadership Principles

The best leaders are produced by the military, they are all grown within the service. This clip talks about the three military leadership principles of 'be', 'know', and 'do'. Briefly then: A leader should be physically and mentally tough, multi-faceted, self-aware, and loyal up and down the chain of command. A leader should know both tactical skills and the technical skills of his position. Finally, a leader should influence and improve his skills so that he moves on, his team is in a better position that when he arrived.

Here's the official description:

The US Army categorizes leadership principles under three categories... Be, Know and Do. We detail leadership attributes (mental, physical, and emotional), and end with an examination of leadership interpersonal skills ( communicating, supervising, mentoring, and creating the right environment).
