Why Do So Many Websites Fail?
In the past, when the Internet was less mature, a person could set up a website without spending much time thinking about it, because it used to be simpler, and there was far less competition. Because of this many people didn't think about the importance of planning and strategic thinking as it affected websites. That's changed now.
The quality bar for websites is higher. They need to look and function well. On the business side, you have to think, now rather than just slap a website together, just like with any other kind of business. It's no longer the wild west. It's business.
So, many websites have failed in the past because the lack of planning and thinking simply was the invisible barrier. Many people didn't know better. Now, planning a website, and operating it as a business is essential to creating a sustainable and valuable Internet presence.
If you don't plan, you will almost certainly end up with a site that nobody visits, nobody buys from, and does not add to your business reputation.
