Some Book Recommendations For Performance Management

<%title_linked%> -

It's easy to forget that the cornerstone of performance management is PLANNING -- the setting of goals and objectives, so that employees are clear about what they are to accomplish, how they are expected to perform, and the criteria that will be applied when employee and manager sit down to review performance.

Planning goes even further when it comes to individual performance, since part of the process involves identifying possible barriers, and developing plans to overcome them, with manager and employee working together.

There's a lot to this, but it's not hard, and much less time consuming than you'd think. In this section you'll find some book recommendations, but I have to recommend our own books on the topic, and one in particular:

Performance Management - A Briefcase Book contains all the explanations you will need to implement a proper, systems oriented, cooperative, non-coercive system to manage performance, with one primary goal: To improve it.
