Message From Robert Bacal About The Leadership Development Resource Center
For over twenty years, I've had the honor of working with organizations, managers and employees on a number of development endeavors, in consulting, training design and delivery, and keynote speaking, and had the privilege of speaking my mind on various topics through my many books and websites.
One area that has fascinated me is the topic of leadership in organizations. It's one of the most talked about subjects in both business, politics and even sports, and it's an area where there is very little consensus about what effective leadership involves, or even what effective leadership IS. There are dozens of models and different perspectives, and often conflicting ones that lead to conflicting advice for both new and established leaders.
In 2006, two different opportunities arose for me -- opportunities to develop book projects on the topic of leadership, and this got me thinking, and hunting for background material on leadership topics. An author never knows if books projects will ever come to fruition, at least until the ink is dry on the contracts, but in the process of researching (which is ongoing), I collected a lot of excellent articles and resources on the topic. So, I decided to make those available free of charge on the web, in addition to trying to build a comprehensive site where people could find information on all aspects of leadership -- a kind of one stop leadership research center.
That's what you are looking at right now. The Leadership Development Resource Center is here to help you understand leadership, its complexities, even its muddiness, in support of helping to create better leaders in business, non-profits, government and politics and in the community. Not only will you find links to excellent articles and tools hosted elsewhere, but I've also chipped in my own articles related to the topic, and guest leadership articles of high quality.
I hope you enjoy the resource center, and find it useful. All of the material on this site is hand-picked and we do not accept submissions of articles or links to ensure only the highest quality (or most interesting) leadership materials are made available. And, all of the material on this site should be available without requiring you to register or pay a fee.
Enjoy!
